"I'm busy" is an Excuse

Ahhh, the desirable passive income. One of life's more alluring dreams is the possibility of making money while you sleep. Passive income streams offer something that most of us could use: more money while having the flexibility of our time.

If you were to count, how many times this past week did you say "busy"? I just can't right now; I have too much going on. The word "busy" implies behavior and even perspectives that are not always positive. And I don't think it's a good thing in most cases. In fact, I've worn it as a symbol of pride while also using it as an excuse for my less-than-stellar performance in certain areas of my life.

How come I didn't know that before? “Things got really busy.”

How did I miss this? Things became busy.

Why can't I spend more time learning? I'm occupied.

What took me so long to finish that business project? "I'm busy."

Busyness wears me out.

Which would I prefer?

My focus is on being productive, generating passive income, and being financially independent.

I don't know about you, but there are particular people in my life who motivate me to improve.

Life is rife with excuses. And it appears that people will stop at nothing to find an excuse not to accomplish something.

Most people will find an excuse not to accomplish anything that is difficult or time-consuming.

It's generally agreed that having too much on your plate is a good problem to have. My opinion is that this is just an excuse keeping you from realizing your full potential.

I intend to take initiative and prioritize results. To avoid having a mountain of half-done things hanging over my head, I need to get better at formulating plans and following through on them. I don't want to be too preoccupied with work to spend quality time with my loved ones and enjoy the activities I enjoy. That is why it is so important to be financially independent. To be free to pursue my own interests, I need only make the conscious decision not to keep myself excessively occupied.
